Save the date for the next Horizon 2020 Space Info Day, which will take place in Ljubljana. The event is going to open the doors to prepare for the 2017 Horizon 2020 Space calls, inform about regional EU funds that may involve Space, offer opportunity to network and to learn good practices, …

The goal of this 2-day event in Ljubljana (Slovenia) is to promote and raise the awareness on EU space programmes as well as to enhance co-operation of European business and research community in space science and technology. These programmes aims to support jobs and industrial growth, industrial competitiveness, research and progress in technological innovation, and quality of life in all areas of societal life (transport, communication, land use with geodesy, agriculture and fisheries, security, protection and disaster relief, environment, health, …).

The event will give the opportunity to all stakeholders involved (public bodies, business, research and education institutions) to get informed on present status in development of EU flagship programmes in space as it is Earth observation (Copernicus) and satellite navigation (Galileo/EGNOS) and on the related Horizon 2020 space part. Other EU development funds as it is European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) and in particular, its regional initiatives, to strengthen regional country co-operation in space science and technology, will be presented and discussed as well.

The programme of the event will focus in particular on good practices and opportunities on how to use and how to participate in research and development, promoted by Horizon 2020 – Space programme where the SME Instrument “Space” is playing an important role. The opportunities to network and brokerage sessions to meet other interested parties and space players for potential cooperation during both days of the event are an important integral part of the agenda. The representatives of the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) are expected as well.

Geographical location of the Horizon 2020 Space Info day and Workshop on Space Science and Technology Co-operation shall in particular encourage stakeholders of the Western Balkans region to take the advantage of this unique opportunity and participate at this important event.
